Professional Editing for Speculative Authors

Welcome!

Finishing a book is a huge accomplishment, and I’m here to help you with the next step!

I specialize in speculative fiction, specifically fantasy, romantasy, romance, sci-fi, and horror. I love these genres personally, so I’m very familiar with the different genre conventions and what a reader would expect.

My biggest goal when editing is to help you elevate your writing while preserving your voice. I believe that in the age of AI, it’s extremely important to have human-made stories, so I will absolutely not work on anything made using AI, nor do I use it in my own editing process.

Whether you’re looking to self-publish or you’re pursuing traditional publishing, I’d love to help you with your book.

Testimonials

Monique Rowe

“Just when you think all hope is lost, along comes Rachael. I’ve never worked with anyone who puts in as much time and care as she does. Rachael isn’t afraid to be honest—but in a way that’s constructive and encouraging. She takes the time to explain how she, as a reader, interprets your writing, ensuring your message gets through without getting lost in mischosen words or rushed sentences. Her thoroughness is unmatched, and I am so grateful to have met her. Thank you, Rachael!”

David Rider

“I thought I had done all the research needed during the first draft, and I didn’t expect Rachael to catch more than simple punctuation or grammatical errors. Not only did she find much more, but she also surprised me by checking my research. She kept in constant contact throughout the process. Her work skills are exemplary.”

Kaya

“Rachael did a beta read for me and I can honestly say she’s worth every penny (and then some)! She gave me balanced feedback about what worked and what wasn’t working so well in a report broken down by the important topics like pace, setting, characters, etc. I enjoyed her in-line reactions and comments so I could follow her thought process as she read. Quick turnaround, great communicator, and thoughtful answers to my questions. I highly recommend her beta reading services! Thanks again, Rachael!”
